We are currently recruiting for a volunteer who will work on our Spark Employment project.
Purpose of the job:
To work alongside a qualified career advisor in providing information, advice, and support to unemployed adults on a range of employment opportunities, including learning and career options enabling them to overcome barriers to progression.
To work alongside a qualified career advisor in providing practical support to unemployed adults in accessing employment and self-employment activities including job search, job application, interview skills development. Business development and marketing.
Key responsibilities:
To work alongside a qualified career advisor in providing initial and ongoing assessment of client’s pre-employment support needs in order to formulate development plans which enable clients to achieve their goals.
To work alongside a qualified career advisor in assisting unemployed adults in their search for work, learning and education opportunities and actively seek out and secure employment which matches client’s skills, experience and aspirations.
To work alongside a qualified career advisor in assisting unemployed adult to develop businesses or self-employment ventures which match their skills, experiences, talents, and aspirations.
To follow all NCSD procedures and policies in order to maintain security for service user’s information and data.
To participate in training and undertake appropriate learning and development as identified through regular appraisal and reviews with line manager.
Personal specification:
- No experience necessary
- Good interpersonal skills
- All training will be provided (4 hours of training on basic information, advice and guidance provision)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Candidates are expected to spend at least 2 sessions per month and a session is 3-4 hours for a period of at least 5 months.
